In the area of manufacturing there are 600,000 unfilled jobs because applicants do not have the skills or the education to do the jobs. Not only was Electric Boat recently awarded an $18 Billion contract to build new subs and will need some 3000+ individuals in the field of manufacturing well into the 2020’s, but there will be similar opportunities in other manufacturing firms across Connecticut.
